OTP SMS delivers a one-time password to a mobile number so you can verify a person during signup, login or a high-risk action. VeloBotix sends OTP SMS through a Sri Lankan SMS gateway API; your app generates and expires the code.

## Recommended pattern

Generate a short numeric code in your server. Store a hash with a 3–5 minute TTL. Send the code with SEND\_SINGLE and your Sender ID. Never log raw OTPs in public analytics.

Add retry limits and lockouts to reduce brute force. Delivery receipts help you see if the SMS reached the handset.
