When SMS OTP fits
SMS OTP reaches users who may not open email quickly — common for login, checkout and high-risk actions on mobile-first Sri Lankan audiences. Generate the code in your app; VeloBotix delivers the SMS.
When email OTP fits
Email can be cheaper for low-urgency verification and works when the user is already in an inbox workflow. It is slower and less reliable on mobile for time-sensitive OTPs.
Implementation note
Store a hash of the OTP with a short TTL, rate-limit sends, and use a registered Sender ID. See OTP SMS and /docs/otp for integration patterns.
